The execution of Ernest Ouanda

On 15 January 1971, Ernest Ouanda, last charismatic leader of the UPC was executed in a public place, Bafoussam, the third largest city of Cameroon. This event marks the symbolic end of political hope in Cameroon, led by political party (the Union of the Populations of Cameroon) who fought from 1949 to sou ... sovereignty of the country.
This left very popular, social and democratic aspirations, was banned by France in 1955 and went into hiding. It was an opportunity for the colonial power and the power to put in place since independence, to assassinate activists and leaders of that party. Thus, among the hundreds of thousands dead, Ruben Um Nyobe Felix Moumie, then Ernest Ouanda OSENDA Afana, free spirits, independent and informed, were murdered by poison or weapons.
In March 2010, with the assistance of the Company Feugham Bafoussam, I wanted to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the independence of Cameroon in restoring the public execution. One Sunday we found ourselves in Bafoussam in the courtyard of repetition of the company to put a symbolic stage this event.
photographic work (in progress) is to isolate the field of 11 black and white images taken of this reconstruction, each figure, each portrait, each referring to his involvement and his own transmission history. The fiction of the expansion by the blur and the grain of the image away from the resemblance of the "correctness" of a documentary made.
